My Early Birthday Present

June 10th, 2005

Early B-Day PresentSo, in order to keep me from whining continuously over the next week-and-a-half about when I’m going to get to open a birthday present (my b-day is June 15th), Willa busted this little gem of a gift out and said “Happy Birthday Nick!” and made my frickin’ day!

I am now the owner of a new iPod mini. The 6 gig silver variety to be exact. Beautiful. I am getting ready to load it up right now with some music and playlists (using the Winamp iPod integration plug-in which actually rocks the house). Apple really did do a wonderful job with this little device, it just feels so good in my hand I don’t want to put it down.

Women listen up: A tech gadget is a sure fire way to make a man smile and forget all the pain you put us through. I can’t remember anything negative about Willa at the moment, seriously, she’s an angel.

Time to put away the hulking Nomad Jukebox 3 and join the Apple sheik with my white earbuds. I am forgoing 20 gigs of space for a much smaller package and much better interface, and I feel pretty good. I enter into this relationship with great hopes iPod, great hopes…

Sweet b-day present. It is super early, but it’s OK, I guess I know my Christmas gift already…..

Yeah, I think we as a culture should encourage early present giving more frequently, or just gift giving more frequently in general.

We would probably just end up getting into a big “re-gifting” circle though, and all end up with the same things.

    Heh-Heh…you said “earbuds”. Heh-heh.
