Summer 2005

We just hosted our friend Christa’s birthday party this weekend, and I can safely say it was a blast. The guest list included friends from Seattle and our hometown of Bellingham, which made for some heated bocce ball matches between the locals and the city slickers. I think we went through about 12 bottles of alcohol (11 wine, 1 champagne), and enjoyed each one immensely.

This summer has been shaping up as a summer to remember. And any summer to remember has to have a logo, a theme, a graphics package that the networks can deploy when covering the event. The sketch above is a start for the graphics package that will accompany stories about my summer. We’ve hosted some good parties, and had fun at others expense as well (Shaun & Megan’s Engagement). And we’re only about half-way through. I think I’ll need to generate at least two or three more sketches for events yet to come. Now for some theme music…Abram?

This summer really has been GREAT! My birthday party was amazing fun. I’m pretty sure I remember everything now…(Willa and I actually did lay on the kitchen floor) Thanks go out to Nick and Willa for hosting and to Abram and Willa for planing and cooking up one hell of a party. Thanks to the palls in Seattle for making the trip up and showing me a good pre-party time. Like Nick said, we’re only half way through the summer. So naturally the question follows, When’s the next party?

  2. The Party is here on the West-side Says:

Some theme music eh? I accept your challenge, but what style of music should I go for? Hip-Hop? Alternative? Pop? Country? Death Metal? The wrong genre could end my friendship with some people so I will have to be careful with the selection… :D

I think a smooth Nicolay-style beat is in order. Something to just let play while the bocce match is being decided. Something to bob your head to.
