Kanye West for President 2008

September 7th, 2005

During Talib’s set at Bumbershoot this year, a backpacker approached and handed us stickers pimping “Kanye West for President”! “Ahh, that’s cool, let me have one!” we all said. After all, it had the droupout bear and we were all there to see Common’s show (whose latest album was produced by Kanye). Great right? Actually, not so much.

The website was nonexistent when we first tried the URL: www.kanyewestforpresident.com. Did we spell it right? Yes. Is the that URL even registered yet? Yes. Well WTF!

Well I checked it again today and low and behold, a website has appeared! Although, I’m not sure that it is up to Kanye’s standards of excellence. Judge for yourself.

Welcome to Kanye West for President 2008

Ninth’s killin’ niggas by rockin’ the bells,
and Kanye’s just sitting back sayin’ “Oh well”. ;-)

  4. The Backpacker Says:

Yo, what’s up? I’m the backpacker that was giving out those stickers.

Sorry that the site wasn’t up on the day of bumbershoot. I had my boy back home working on it, but it was labor day weekend and the dude who runs our webserver is in madison and was stoned out of his mind all that weekend… C’est La Vie.

As for the quality of the site: hey man, that’s a one man made sight beat out in a couple of hours. Not the best campaign site, but certainly good enough for the prank.

    Peace out bitches.

  5. nick Says:

Nice man. I appreciate the effort for sure and think that the site’s hilarious.

    Kanye West for President 2008!!!
