Late Registration

September 9th, 2005

Kanye West’s Late Registration has been my pick for album of the year for the past few weeks (although The Minstrel Show is currently challenging that assertion). The album has everything: hot beats, crazy rhymes, dope collabos and Kanye’s signature braggadocio style. Kanye’s on fire right now, and his over-the-top expressiveness in interviews and appearances in magazines, t.v. shows, radio and online (hell name a form of media he isn’t in) ensure that he’s always being talked about.

I mean, I actually saw him say “(Late Registration) is probably one of the best produced albums of all time. Not just of 2000, like ALL TIME.” He might be right…

Pitchfork has some good reading on the album, as does Okayplayer.
