The Reluctant Shopper

November 27th, 2005

I made the proclamation earlier this week that I was not interested and had no intention of going out and doing much shopping over Thanksgiving weekend. Well, Saturday came around and as we were leaving to meet a friend for an early breakfast I was informed by my wife that she was going to “take me to a special store in the county” after breakfast. Sounded like shopping to me. Indeed, we didn’t get home until the early afternoon.

Now, here I am on Sunday about to go out for another “quick” shopping excursion. I’ll probably get back home this evening sometime. How does this happen?

So, today wasn’t too bad, but I think I’ve seen enough overly-scented candles, greasy soaps and mediocre jewelry to kill any man. But I’m still alive! Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to go to stores for work for god sake. Not to mention about 9 holiday seasons of working in retail hell. I try to make my holiday shopping well planned and stealthy, kinda like my gaming.
