Cars Don’t Swim
December 22nd, 2006
Unfortunately for us, cars don’t swim. We found this out the hard way last week when, after a serious rain storm, Willa and I drove our car into a body of water stretched across a well traveled road and didn’t come out the other side.
We knew that it was risky. A freakin’ Honda Civic went through right in front of us and we watched the stupid thing make it through (damn them!), which gave us a false sense of hope I guess.
As we drove into the abyss, the water kept rising and rising, until our poor car could take no more and stalled. Willa and I sat in disbelief as water started trickling in through the doors. It was a hopeless situation. So we grabbed what we could from the doomed vehicle and abandoned ship.
When we returned to meet our tow truck, many other unfortunate vehicles had met the same fate: a watery tomb of sorrow and misery punctuated by flashing hazard lights.
Our car was totaled by insurance and is waiting for the salvage truck to take it to the big parking lot in the sky. It is a sad way for such a trusty steed to be put down. I have had that car since I was 17 (ten years) and it carries with it many memories of growing up.

We are gathered here today, to give tribute, to one, 200SX, friend to many, considered by all as very reliable. In his last moments, braving the perils of deep waters, he found his final resting place providing transportation to those he left behind. He will not be forgotten.

Apacolypto.
I remember back when we took that curb over by fred meyer….ahhh memories. Isn’t it Aztec red? don’t we have to sacrafice a virgin or something? (not to worry, I’m on the case). the thoughts of the last day of the car make me reminiss about the end of titanic, hurricane katrina and a couple early bond films with car submarines. Atleast you took it out erbol cowboy/bon jovi style(in the blaze of glory).

Holly Crap. I will miss the little red race car. I bet the little guy held its breath as long as it could…
