The Great Outdoors (aka Deep Thoughts, Pt. II)

March 19th, 2007

Rattlesnake Ridge I went hiking yesterday (first hike of the year for me) and it was a little slice of heaven. Although it started in typical western Washington flair (read: RAIN), the weather lifted when we got to our destination (read: 2.5 miles up Rattlesnake Ridge) and it was apparent that spring is here.

It was refreshing to brush off the winter haze, get back out into nature and breath in some fresh air. Seems like I needed the refresh, and the perspective, that getting out into the wilderness provides. Amazing what a little exercise and sunlight can do for the body, mind and soul. Taking a page from a Death Cab lyric: I have shed my winter skin.
