Man Overboard (Wenatchee River Rafting)

July 23rd, 2007

This rafting trip took place last month, and this video has been making the inner-circle rounds for some time, but it needed to go up here for sure, so here it is: Rafters vs the Wenatchee River.

Here is the set-up: three non-rafters from Microsoft decide to go rafting with some of their brethren. The raft guide decides it would be a good idea (or seriously funny) for these three rafters to sit “rodeo-style” on the front of the raft through a particularly rough section of the river. For those who don’t know what that means, it means that you are sitting on the front of the raft with your feet hanging OVER THE FRONT, with only one hand holding a rope on the boat and the other hand in the air like a rodeo rider. Needless to say it’s a recipe for disaster. That’s me on the left, this is not going to be good…

Yahoooo!!! Ride ‘em cowboy! Looked like super fun. I laughed at the guy in the middle that fell backwards and couldn’t get back up.

Yeah, that was my co-worker Damien. He was like a turtle flipped on his shell.
