iTunes Hates Me
October 22nd, 2007
All of the sudden I fire up iTunes and I get a message that my iTunes library does not appear to be valid and basically…tough shit. To make matters worse I checked my backups to find that, while all my media is being backed up, things like the freakin’ iTunes library XML file is not.
All my media = still there.
All my playlists, ratings, play counts = gone.
Damn you iTunes, I work hard on those playlists!
This cover art within iTunes pretty much describes my frustration…
Backup settings corrected I now plunge into the great playlist rebuild project. Suggestions are welcome.

Hates me too, as I’ve had the same thing happen twice now. I can’t decide if it is a VISTA incompatibly, or the new version of itunes being buggy. Thank god for last.fm, at least I can keep track of play count and fav songs, but totally sucks to mark up all my songs and attempt to recreate playlists. Way Ghetto.

throw that Axelrod on a mix with some beat conducta, Percee P,Black Milk and my favorite One Be Lo and then a couple of select tracks from Phat cat and maybe a dilla intrumental.
definitely start playlists with the great producers- kanye, 9th, Hi Tek, timbaland, dilla, etc.
Reach back to 2k6 and throw everything that came out that year into a playlist.
Saturday mornings you should probably think back to those rare days where the sun came out and search for some inspiration…maybe even give mikey a call and ask him what he is bumpin. Track down Ferguson! LOL

LOL, will do. Got one queued up for Friday. Will update you all on what my playlists end up being.
So far have my standard “Beats, Rhymes & Life” mix which is the constantly rotating latest hip-hop…
Also have “Due Dillagence” which is my Dilla mix, “Best of 2007″ and “Freaky Radio”, which is basically a constantly rotating mix of everything other than hip-hop.
Got “Hip-Hop Gold Dust” which is all my classic hip-hop albums. Got “Rock The Bells” which is my recent and classic rock tracks. And finally got “Prerequisites” which is full discographies of artists that are must-haves (i.e. Roots, Common, Outkast, etc.).
