Little Brother Getback Sketch

Here it is, my top 10 list from last year. As usual, the list is dominated by hip-hop, but there were definitely some great albums from M.I.A., The Shins and LCD Soundsystem that were constantly in rotation to mix things up.

  1. Little Brother - Getback
  2. Talib Kweli & Madlib - Liberation
  3. Kanye West - Graduation
  4. Common - Finding Forever
  5. M.I.A. - Kala
  6. The Shins - Wincing the Night Away
  7. Jay-Z - American Gangster
  8. Blu & Exile - Below the Heavens
  9. Talib Kweli - Eardrum
  10. LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver

Nice list yo. Definitely enjoyed Talib Kweli this last year more than I have ever in the past. I needed some of his newer stuff to enlighten the older joints.

Nice- don’t think LB is on the top of my list- prob round out the top 5. Happy to see jigga and Blu. Blu was a late ad for me but definitely used some elbows to get into my top 5…Hard to mess with kanye. my only non hip hop adds would have been radiohead and PB & J.
Liberation still gets top billing for me. 2k7 was pretty sick all together for music. Percee, Tek, and Busta/Dilla would get some honorable mention among many others that I am sure that I am forgetting.

Yup, PB&J should probably of made the list…that got much play in the Severson household.

Also, honorable mention should go to Percee, Hi-Tek, 9th Wonder, Pharoahe, Ghostface and Wu-Tang.
