PhilNick Website Re-Design (CSS Reboot)

Completed in 2006

With a job search looming and the need to present myself as a web technology specialist ever-present, I embarked on a CSS Reboot of PhilNick.com in March of 2006.

The main goal of the reboot was to meld my personal blog site and my separate portfolio site into one entity and showcase my talents in web design, web development and web technologies in general.

Of course, all design and coding was done by me, although I did benefit from some great Wordpres plugins that made it easy to integrate the features I wanted (Flickr and Last.fm integration).

  • Graphics/Imagery: All graphics on the site are hand-drawn sketches that were scanned-in and optimized for the web.
  • CSS: The site layout and style is all CSS and is encapsulated in a Wordpress theme.
  • Web Standards: The site was designed to be XHTML 1.0 Transitional-compliant.
