Western Washington University Website

Completed in 2003

The Western Washington University website project involved implementing a complete re-design of the school’s website. This involved the creation of a new design, a revamping of the content and an update to the underlying technology powering the site.

I was responsible for the following aspects of the project:

  • CSS: I worked on developing the style sheet for the homepage and site templates.
  • Graphics/Imagery: I was responsible for creating many of the graphics for the layout and other images throughout the site.
  • Flash/ActionScript: I developed an audience-based navigation tool used on the homepage that doubled as a campus photo viewer.
  • Web Standards: I assisted in the incorporation of web standards in the site templates, style sheets, and overall architecture.
  • User Interface/Interaction: I was involved in building the navigation taxonomy and user paths through the site.
  • Database/SQL: I assisted in the integration of dynamic data in the site using SQL Server and XML
  • Programming: I developed various JavaScript pieces for the site as well as functionality using ASP.NET and Flash ActionScript.
